We Have Your Back: Welcoming New NACS Teachers

Beginning a new school year brings fresh possibilities—but for teachers, it can also bring a long list of classroom needs.

That is especially true for educators who are beginning their careers, moving into a new classroom, or stepping into a new grade level. Before students even arrive, teachers are often planning lessons, organizing supplies, creating welcoming spaces, and making sure every student has what they need to learn and thrive.

One recent educator survey found an average out-of-pocket cost of $673 annually. Education Week

At the NACS Education Foundation, we believe our teachers should know they are supported from day one. That is why we are welcoming new NACS teachers with a $50 gift to use in their classrooms, along with a shirt that shares a simple but meaningful message: We Have Your Back.

The gift may help purchase supplies, classroom materials, organizational tools, or the little touches that make a space feel like home. More importantly, it is a reminder that our community recognizes the care, creativity, and personal investment teachers bring to their work every day.

For a new teacher, $50 can mean a fresh set of books, bins for student supplies, materials for a first lesson, or a small amount of breathing room during an already busy season. For a teacher changing classrooms or grade levels, it can help make a new space ready for new learners.
